A new relationship brings with it nervous panic and sweating palms. Terror that you may be moving too fast... or too slow. Smiling for no reason. Anticipation of seeing them again. Any chance, soon.
Friday night passes slowly and alone. Saturday night too. Waiting by the phone that never rings.

The music pounds and booms, friends laughing, the party's started.
Walk in the room, maybe just one drink tonight.
An hour later, another beer? Sure! The life of the party.
Another hour passes, what exactly is in this drink? I'll feel it tomorrow.
Another hour, shots of everything, whatever is left over, passed out on the couch.
The hangover pounds and aches, my head, my back, everything hurts.
Alright never drinking again, this isn't fun anymore.
The party's pumping, having a good time.
Drink in my hand within ten minutes.
Well maybe just one drink tonight.

We all have one person in our lives that has been through everything with us. One person that we told all of our secrets to. From the important stuff to the minor stuff, we know that they will take it to the grave. A friend that we can trust with our lives and we would give anything to help them too. The kind of friend that wakes you up at three in the morning. Just to talk and its OK. They were there during the biggest moments of your life; first kiss, first date, first boyfriend, family problems, and upsetting siblings, graduation, prom, college acceptance.New cities; new friends. Becoming busy with things like classes, jobs, social life. You call every day, then every other, once a week becomes once a month. You send the occasional email or Facebook message. you feel terrible and you know you should call more. A moment comes along when you know only they would understand or find funny. You still have your private jokes and still see each other here and there. Eventually a time comes and you find a moment, call them up and it's like no time has passed. You catch each other up on the happenings of your lives, talk, discuss, and offer advice. After all is said and don, you hang up the phone, and know that even after time has passed you're still best friends.
